Eating Places

For evening meals there is a very good licensed bistro in Kirkby Thore village called The Bridge Bistro. It is open during summer for last orders until 8pm Mon to Thurs, 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays and until 5pm on Sundays. It is usually closed on Tuesdays during the winter months.

There are many good pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area and a good variety of restaurants in Appleby and Penrith. We can email a list of suggested eating places if required.

Takeaways

We can set the lovely burred oak table in the dining room for guests and they are welcome to bring their own food or take aways from The Bridge restaurant or various places in Appleby or Penrith. There is also a small fridge in the library area for guests to use.
